Brits Want Microsoft Office 2007 Expelled From Classrooms —

Instead of Open XML, BECTA ( British Educational Communications and Technology Agency) wants the EU to compel Microsoft to support open standards, such as the Open Document Format. Open XML is not an open standard, except in Microsoft’s eyes. It’s like going to the game and saying we can use any ball, as long as it’s mine.
