0This morning I was taken back by the news that a woman was arrested for murdering her virtual husbands character. This is something I would expect to be taken care of by the game site’s terms of use. Apparently she may be charged with illegal access of a computer and manipulation of electronic data (she used his ID and password to delete his avatar). While there have been some real life events that started on a virtual world requiring police involvment, this is the first virtual murder I have heard of that involved the real police.
