Desktop Publishing is born.

August 31, 1994. Three companies got together and coined the phrase desktop publishing. Aldus, the maker of Pagemaker, Adobe, the owner of postscript, and Apple Computer. Adobe had merged with Aldus, and with Apple computer pushing the concept of publishing from your desktop to a laser printer. This was the start of a trend that would take the power of publishing and put in the hands of the writer.
